Modern technology has made the world of gambling a much larger and more accessible place than ever before. However, it has also opened up new concerns and questions for lawmakers across the country. One of the biggest of these is determining which states allow online gambing and whether or not those laws are effective in keeping iGaming safe for residents.

Several states have taken multiple bites at legalizing online casinos and sports betting, including New jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. However, it has been a slower go for many of them compared to the speed at which sports betting was rolled out.

Rhode Island took a bit of a different approach to the issue, and it is the only state to offer both online sports betting and casino play. The Ocean State launched its sportsbook six months after the Supreme Court reversal, with players able to wager on both pro and college sports. However, player prop bets on collegiate games are prohibited in the state.

Kentucky was another state that took its time with legalizing iGaming, and they still haven’t opened up any retail casinos for players to wager at. It seems likely that the Pine Tree State will wait until their sports betting launch is successful before tackling the idea of an online casino. This will leave them behind their neighbors to the north in terms of iGaming, which may make it tough for them to catch up.
