sulindac for knee pain
Yes, along with some specific gentle exercises to do at home ( lying down on the floor or on the bed to increase back muscle strength and flexibility), I take this to help ease the pain, especially at night to help me sleep.

Risperidone safe for toddlers?
My son is 3 years old and has been having problems with agression and anxiety at home, and at preschool. I have been called at work serveral times due to his impulsive outbursts which finally got him suspended. I was then forced to seek a evaluation from a child psychiatrist before he could return to preschool. The evaluation came out good, however, the doctor did suggest Risperidone to help ease some of my sons agression and impulsive behaviorial problems. I have been doing tons of research of Risperidone but find that studies have only been done on adults patients and not in children. I want to know if there is anybody who knows more that can help me? After my son being evaluated and returning to preschool, I continue to recieve phone calls at work from them reporting of him behaving badly. I don't know what to do anymore. Disipline at home is not working by itself and after talking with his therepist decided to fill the prescription at the lowest dosage and try it out in aiding to ease his agression then take him off of it in about 5 months. Tomarrow is going to be day 1 of him taking the medication and as his mother, I still have many worries, I found this forum while searching information on Risperdone. And I was wondering if there might be anyone that knows more that can maybe give me more information on the safety of children taking it?

Lisinopril - Athletic performance
Nico, I have hypertension also. Was in Army. Used to run marathons in Army. My experience w/lisinopril is that it is benign in all manner. My daily dose is 10mg, twice yours. Took Rx while in service, no problems for me.

However, every person is different, every person has a different system. I suggest you work up slowly to become comfortable w/drug/body chemistry. Run 5km, if OK, run 10km. If 10km OK, try 20km. Hold at 10 & 20km for a week or so, each. If no problem after 20km hold, jump to 25 km.

That is 18+ miles. If OK, run the next marathon you feel ready to run. If the marathon is OK, you are home free. Any problems along the way, TALK TO YOUR DOC!!!!!

Monitor your diet, fats, pulse at all times. Carbo-up for 25+km runs. Buy a sphygmomanometer (blood pressure cuff) and monitor your blood pressure. Take it to the doctor's office next appointment, and have the doc check your machine with his/hers. Should be w/in a few mm. Ask doc to show you how to use, just to know how the doc's office takes your BP.

Check your BP first thing in am while still in bed. Check at night, while in bed. These are complete rest positions. Should be at low end of OK. Let your doc know readings. Doc will advise if changes necessary.

Always take the time to use the machines in grocery stores just for fun. If you get a problem reading at Safeway, check it when you get home.

My guess is, you'll be fine. Just work up to distances. Oh, yes. DO NOT TRY FOR A SUB-4 YOUR FIRST TIME OUT!!! Take it easy, and relax the first marathon. Push yourself when holding at 10 & 20km, late in the hold week of each. If you feel funny, talk to the doc!

Good luck!

Getting off lorazepam
In response to Rk, I have also been on Ativan for 8 months for Insomnia. I was taking .5 mg each night and now it is .75 as the .5 does not put me to sleep anymore. I'd like to get off of this drug completely and sleep unaided. But I have tried with no sucess. I end up having 2 hours sleep. It is an awful feeling! I have a young child at home as well, so it's pretty hard not getting a good night's sleep. Someone recommended Elavil (anti-depressant) to re-instate regular sleep patterns but my Dr. stated that has more side effects. Any thoughts on this? How do you get off this stuff?? Thanks.
