Tendonitis
I was prescribed Indomethacin for tendonitis in my ankles -- both of them. They hurt so badly when I rise from a seated position that I have to pause for a moment before I can walk on them. Doc x-rayed for bone-spurring, but found nothing, and diagnosed tendonitis. I cannot tell any difference in the level of pain after taking 3 weeks' of indomethacin (25mg x 3). I am unsure what to do ... go back for a different anti-inflammatory? I have used Naproxen and Ibuprofen in the past for other conditions, so don't think these would make the grade either. Pain pills are out (I must function cognitively on a daily basis for my job). Anyone have experience with ankle or leg pain that might have ideas/recommendations??

Tendonitis
I have been having problems with shoulder tendonitis with impingement, and taking naproxen (220mgx2) twice a day every so often with modest relief. I had a cortisone injection six months ago but with no relief at all. I had a gout attack in my knee (swelling and that mushy fluid buildup) and had some indomethacin on hand from a previous attack and after two doses my knee was still a little sore but my shoulder felt pretty good and feeling like the impingement was gone. I have always lifted weights and been out of action since the shoulder is bothering me. After feeling better I went to the gym and worked out lightly but enough to create tendon soreness. I ran out of the indomethacin but I am considering going back to the doc to get more. I don't know much about the drug but the doc only prescribed one month's worth initially so I am questioning whether this stuff is too strong to use over a prolonged period and if there is some long term effect on the tendons that will cause future problems. Any ideas?
