Lovastatin
Hello, Deborah and Fran, I'm new to this forum and have been on the Mevacor for over 2 years. I like it pretty well. I seems to have no side effects. My cholestrol is in control to a degree but I know that it would drop much more if I ate better. Last year I did an experiment and for 3 months ate less carbs and exercised more and all my numbers came down quite a bit. I'm diabetic and also have high blood pressure. Everything came down but it was hard to maintain that level of discipline. My blood sugars came back up but my other numbers are somewhat stable for the time being.. My biggest problem is 'bread' - I love lots of butter on it. If I don't eat bread I also don't eat butter and the numbers come down! I don't use any margarine or other transfat or oil. I only use olive oil for cooking etc. which contains the 'good' cholestrol! I also take Diovan for blood pressure - some of the side effects of this is it's supposed to lower cholestrol as well as blood sugars.. The results should show within 3 months if your doctor wants a blood test scheduled..

Any risks for children
The pediatrician gave to my daughter 9 months old cyproheptadine 2mg/day for 6 months to increase appetite, it was extremely effective, she ate everything I gave her, before this, it was a continous fight every meal. She was sleepy during the first days but after a week of treatment she was OK. I have noticed that she changed the colour of the skin which became darker (because of the sensitivity of the drug to sun exposure- I guess). Because of that I interrupted the treatment after 6 weeks, I was afraid not to damage her liver. Maybe I was wrong, I don't know.
Coud somebody tell me for how long is it safe to give this drug to a child?

Production of Trazadone
See answer above. That is how I arrived at this board. But I don't get it. This might not be the manufacturer? Perhaps we need to research Pharmaceutical World or trazodone + .com.
Trazodone is the generic name for desyrel.
I think the drug is so old that whoever manufactured desyrel doesn't anymore as I did enter desyrel + .com and came up with nothing using MSN search. Hmm......

But do check out this cool link which I found here (!) too regarding all generic drugs:

Got sick after taking Diovan for a few months
Just wanted to log my experience with Diovan for the record..

Started taking it in Jan, after a bizarre episode where my BP went sky high. It took 2 weeks to normalize, and I was fine.

About a month ago I started getting sick after i ate, just really tired, and felt "fluey", if that's a word. After blood tests, etc. I couldn't figure out what was wrong. I stopped taking the diovan and immediately felt much better.

There's probably more I can add, but I just wanted to make my experience part of the Diovan record here.
