Metoprolol and Lisinopril
Both of these drugs are for treatment of high blood pressure. In the forum descriptions "heart desease" is also included for Lisinopril.

Since both drugs help with high blood pressure, why would the doctor prescribe both rather than just a higher dosage of the Lisinopril?

generic lisinopril
i have recently changed from Zestril to a generic form lisinopril,i had no problems with zestril,however since taking lisinopril with mannitol,i seem to be having terrible side effects,with swelling of face,hands and feet.
I know zestril contains mannitol but it appears from the info on mannitol i am having an adverse reaction to it, maybe the compound is a bit different causing this,anyone else had similar problems with generic forms?

Lisinopril and increased libido
I've been on Lisinopril for my blood pressure since a stroke in November 2004. Once I got over the initial side effects of headache, stomachache, etc. I have had a dramatic increase in my libido. Nice side effect. Has anyone experienced this?

Lisinopril - Athletic performance
Hi, I am a marathon runner (PB of 2h55) 45 years old and have high blood pressure (genetic if u ask me). My Dr prescribed 5mg Lisinopril, - I have never before taken any medication to control the hypertension. I'd like to know if anyone has experience of how it influences athletic performance - if any.

generic lisinopril
You may consider asking your physician if Lisinopril w/ Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ) would be right for you. If you are having water retention, the HCTZ can offset that by having the kidneys get rid of excess water and salt through the urine. I have been taking Lisinopril/HCTZ combo and have not had any problems. It's been wonderful to be back to normal. I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hypertension at age 23. It was unexplainable how, but this drug has changed my life.
