Clindamycin severe side effects
I took Clindamycin for an oral abcess, I've been off it for 2 weeks but tomorrow I plan to see my doct because I've had severe abdominal cramps and diarreah for 5 days. Really don't understand why I wasn't warned about this severe side effect on this drug!! This was too strong an antibiotic for an oral abcess! I think Pseudomembranuos Colitis or Clostridium Difficile is the bacteria it causes. Colitis is managable but not curable.

Glyburide/Metform 2.5 Twice a day
2 weeks ago I lost my father, 63 from what the ICU doctors called Lactic acidosis which is addressed in the first line of the "Before taking this medication" section of his prescription. My father was diagnosed with Type 1 about 12 years ago and been managing his blood sugar with 2 insulin shots a day. I'm not sure if it's common to prescribe this drug along with insulin shots for Type 1 patients but it clearly states on the drug website and the precautions it should not be used to treat Type 1 patients. My question to the forum is have you heard of using both to control sugar levels?

Clindamycin severe side effects
I was prescribed cleocin-oral 300mg from the dentist when I had my wisdom teeth removed. A couple of weeks later I notice a change in the consistancy of my bowel movements and thought that it was just a phase until one morning I was awaken with severe diarrhea. For three weeks I was back and fourth between going five times a day to not going at all. During this time I'd been to the doctor three times and have even taken a trip to the emergency room. I used to be afraid of needles but I have had so much blood taken from me that it doesn't bother me anymore. I was told that I had developed Cdif and am now on flagyl for a week. The severe cramping caused me to bleed two weeks after my normal cycle. I am lucky that I wasn't pregnant because I don't think that the baby would have made it. Tomarrow I have to see the Radiologist and the Gynocologist to make sure no damage was done. I understand that you take the risk of developing complications from using prescription drugs since they put the warning on the label but I wonder how many people have severe reactions from using this drug. They say that you should talk to your doctor if you have question about taking a drug prior to. But what is left out of the conversation for those of us who are unaware of what is further down the line weeks after taking a certain drug. I don't know if the dose of cleocin that I received was just too strong for me or if my immune system was already impared. I make it a priority to keep up on my visits to the doctor and I do ask questions. But how careful do you need to be? I have done some research on cleocin and am somewhat aware of its other uses. If not taken orally I wonder about its other possible side effects and what they can lead to.

How effective has Glipizide Been For You
Good Evening, About six months ago, I was surprisingly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was originally put on insulin when I was hospitalized. After two months, I was given an oral medication called Glipizide and was even sent home on that medication. I have found the results from this medication far more successful than when I was on an insulin shot. I would enjoy corresponding with others who are on this medication. Did you experience any side effects or how succedssful has it been with you? Thank You-Tony [Cool]

Sulfamethoxazole - unexpected benefits?
My 9 yr old daughter recently broke out in boils, was diagnosed with staph infection and given oral sulfamethoxazole. In addition to quickly healing up her sores, I noticed another benefit. My daughter is usually quite restless during the night, kicking, tossing and grinding her teeth. She often wakes up looking more tired than when she went to bed. After about the third day of taking the sulfamethoxazole, I noticed that she slept soundly and deeply, and far into the morning! That is highly unusual for her. I wonder attributes to this wonderful side effect? I'd guess my child would be considered "higly active" although I've had her tested for ADD/ADHD and she was not found to be either. Due to her newfound ability to sleep well, her daytime behaviour is also markedly changed for the better. Can anybody explain this?
