What side effects can this medication cause?
Although side effects from indomethacin are not common, they can occur. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
- headache
- dizziness
- nervousness
- upset stomach
- stomach pain or cramps
- vomiting
- diarrhea
- constipation
If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:
- bloody vomit
- bloody diarrhea or black, tarry stools
- ringing in the ears
- swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, or lower legs
- skin rash
- itching

New to Indomethacin
Hello All,
I was recently diagnosed with gout, and was pres. Indomethacin and have a question.
How long after the start of taking the med do the symptoms start to resolve ? i.e. swelling, redness ?? I have heard about a week.
Any info would be greatly apperciated....

New indomethacin prescription
I have joint pain that my Dr. prescribed Indomethacin 50mg 3 times a day for. It makes me tense and shakey with a background headache and doesn't seem to do a very good job at fixing the pain. Is this a normal reaction? I've only been taking it for 4 or 5 days so far. Any info would be appreciated.
