Doxepin (Adapin, Sinequan) Forum - Is this medication safe?

Can anyone tell me if this medication is safe? My doctor has prescribed this med to help me with the side effects of withdrawing from Zoloft.

Doxxxipen is one of the older Antidepressents....It is very safe, and has no potential for abuse..I have ben taking it with great success sunce the early 1980's.....It also helps with panic attacks, so dont worry. Ditto with Patrice, however I would add that no medication can claim that it is "100% safe". The world "safe" seems innapropriate, I would rather use "less side-effects" , because there are some contra-indications or side-effects... <IMG title="" alt=[Wink] src="wink.gif" border=0>

I have been taking this medication for over a year and it has helped my depression and ANXIETY tremendously. Side effects minimal although like any drug there are all the usual lists. I have been lucky and deal well with it. I had tried many of the other old and NEW antidepressants and this one has been great and works!
