Valsartan (Diovan) Forum Forum - Valsarten : side effects?

Hi, Is there anyone here at present taking Valsarten (an ACE-inhibitor) and if so, would they say in their opinion when they used it, that Valsarten had none of the unpleasant side effects of that of the other blood pressure drugs?<BR><BR>Your experiences and view would be welcome.<BR>Thanks

hello there, just to let you know that valsartan is not an ace inhibitor......<BR>It works further down the raas system, so that is why there is less side effects than say ace inhibitors..<BR>All drugs that lower your blood pressure are great if you have high blood pressure, as this can trigger other more serious conditions such as stroke, mi, and also diabetes....<BR>so as long as your blood pressure is being kept in check it is a good thing.....<BR>valsartan is also known as an ANGIOTENSIN RECEPTOR BLOCKER.....and if the drug is working for you that is great.....<BR><BR>--------------------<BR>ss<BR>
