Doxepin and Bipolar disorder
My doctor wants me to take doxepin and I am bipolar and worry that it might make me manic. Does anyone who is also bipolar have any experience with doxepin? I am on a mood stabilizer, so that should help, but I find my fear of becoming manic is preventing me from starting the doxepin.
Thank you for your input.

Doxepin dosage
Hi,

I have bee taking Insidon (100 mg /day). Now my doctor has prescribed me Doxepin : 10 mg three times plus 25 mg nigths. I think that is too much and I am afraid I will be sleepy all day. I am also afraid of having an epileptic seizure (it always happened to me once, due to an anridepressant, I suppose it was anafranil or tofranil). What do you think? Could I reduce it to only 25 mg night ?

Doxepin linked to breast cancer??????
Hi and help!! Sorry if this sounds desperate but I feel like a drowning woman! I used 50 mg of doxepin for 11 years to cope with an autoimmune disorder. Then, as luck (or bad luck) would have it, I developed invasive breast cancer. It was caught early and the prognosis is good. HOWEVER,
then I found research that implicates long-term use of doxepin in invasive breast cancer. I went off it, just to be safe, but am having a very difficult time without it, and it seemed to be the only medicine that really helped me. Additionally, now I feel like I gave cancer to myself for being on it so long. Does any one know more about this research, or have an opinion? I need my med but am so afraid! may God Bless You.
