Starting clozapine/withdrawing bipolar meds
Hi. I,m from Chile, sorry if may english is not very well. I have bipolar dissorder, Ihave proube diferents medications since year 2000. Naow, i am using lamictal, clonazepam, seroquel and clozapine. I Know that clozapine is used in ezquizophrenic patients, i realy dont know haw is helping me. Is a mortal medication. Seroquel is olso a anthypsicotic for ezquizofrenic illness. I dont know why I taking two similar medications, and i think is to much medicine. I have friends treated with one medications, for example lithium, and when they satarted a episode, they docotors medicated with apropieted things.

Can you help me whith this dauds?

The effects of taking Trazodone as a sleeping pill.
I've been taking 100mg/night Trazedone for nearly 3 months and have seen decent results. I can expect a good 7-8 hours sleep/night. Occasionally (maybe 2-3 nights/month) I have nights where I only get 4-6 hours.
Considering I've had myoclonus (24/7 shaking/tremors), classified under epilepsy as myoctonic seizures, for 32 years I'm not doing too badly as far as sleep goes.
I've been taking Klonopin (clonazepam as a generic) in doses of 2mg/5x/day. I've been on it since being diagnosed at age 14. It's a member of the benzodiazapene family.
I'm also being treated for depression. I currently am taking Lexapro. I'd been taking 10mg/day for 6 weeks and was just bumped up to 20mg/day last Thursday. I'm not sure what the outcome will be as far as the Lexapro. The PI sheet says one of the side effects is experiencing excess heat, so it's right on!
Sorry...I'm getting a bit off tangent. As far as the Trazedone goes, I don't feel that much more 'grogginess' in the a.m. than I did on the Klonopin alone, although my psych warned me ahead of time to NOT move abruptly after taking the Trazedone. I do frequently awake 1-2 times after dosage, but I believe that's due to a combination of the above as well as chronic back pain and that's a whole other ball game.

Would like to discuss Pregablin w/other test subjects

I did some research about two years ago and found that Europe is holding the patent for some reason. Our FDA wouldn't release it because they said they found that it caused tumors in one specific type of mouse. I don't understand this. I did read that the patient could be release in two to four years for us. I'm just waiting and hoping that we will be able to recieve it soon. I am going to do more research and will let you know what I can find out. If you find anything out please let me know.
The doctor that was conducting the experiment was interested in the effect the drug had on me and was affraid I would go back into my shell without it so we came up with a comprable combination of drugs that had a similar affect.Right now I am taking GABAPENTIN (neurontin) and CLONAZEPAM (klonopin). I don't know if you are aware of this but the main ingredient in PREGABLIN is GABAPENTIN. We wern't sure of the other ingredient because they weren't told . But we tried several combinations of things like neurontin with xanax,valium,and another one I don't remember. Those didn't work for me. The combination made me nervous. (That's a good thing because they are very addicting. We finely settled on the klonopin. This really works. I have been taking it for about seven years now and it works. I may have a panic attach on the average once a week. Before it was a daily thing. I couldn't leave the house.
If I could find enough people to give a testimony maybe we could do something together as a group to get this great medication "pregablin" back. It would change so many people's lives.
I live a normal life now and am working as a ward secretary in a hospital. But this combination is still not as good as the real thing.
