possible doseing
Recently in the ER for a bad case of rapid spreading cellulitis i was given a dose of genta, combined with a dose of clindamycin both IV push.... then i was put on clindamycin...

for about 24 hrs the healing was amazing...

but now after 36 hrs i almost feel like i need more gentamicin.... sigh.... but i don't want to go inpatient unless there's no other way.

And i read that genta is not usually given orally....

any other ideas or suggestions for treatment?

I'm taking the clindamycin... and yes if need be i will go inpatient, but... i'd really rather not....

Clindamycin for abscessed tooth almost killed me
I was given Clindamycin for an abscessed tooth. I had horrid stomach cramps for the days before my root canal and then insisted I be taken off the medicine afterwards. Three weeks later, I was in the hospital after 7 days of diarrhea 25 times a day. My electrolytes were dangerously off and doctor said I could have easily have had a heart attack. I'd have to be facing death and only Clindamycin could save me to ever take this horrible medicine again. It should be taken off the market! Diane

Clindamycin severe side effects
I took Clindamycin for an oral abcess, I've been off it for 2 weeks but tomorrow I plan to see my doct because I've had severe abdominal cramps and diarreah for 5 days. Really don't understand why I wasn't warned about this severe side effect on this drug!! This was too strong an antibiotic for an oral abcess! I think Pseudomembranuos Colitis or Clostridium Difficile is the bacteria it causes. Colitis is managable but not curable.

Bitter taste
I have been taking clindamycin as a gel form for acne, and since I started taking it anything sweet that I eat tastes bitter. Is this common, could it be from ingesting it via contact with my hands and food and what not, also I am taking ambian for insomnia, could this have anything to do with it?
