overperscribtion
Our family pediatrician perscribes zithromax any time that any of us goes in to get checked out for strep throat. the strep tests come back negative and still we always go home with a perscibtion for zithromax. I read this on the zithromax info page:
"To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of
ZITHROMAX® (azithromycin) and other bacterial drugs, ZITHROMAX (azithromycin) should
be used only to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by
bacteria."
I can't help but wonder why this doctor would give us this medication always.
if someone would post a reply that would be swell
