What special precautions should I follow?
Before taking alendronate,
- tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to alendronate or any other medications.
- tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking. Be sure to mention any of the following: antacids; aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (NSAIDs) such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) and naproxen (Naprosyn, Aleve); calcium, iron, or potassium supplements; doxycycline (Doryx, Vibramycin); quinidine (Quinaglute); and tetracycline (Sumycin). Your doctor may need to change the doses of your medications or monitor you carefully for side effects.
- if you are taking any other medications, vitamins, or antacids by mouth, take them at least 30 minutes after alendronate.
- tell your doctor if you are unable to sit or stand upright for 30 minutes or to feed yourself. Also tell your doctor if you have or have ever had any problems with your esophagus, difficulty swallowing, heartburn, ulcers, other stomach problems, low levels of calcium in your blood, frequent muscle cramps or spasms, osteomalacia (softening of bones due to lack of vitamin D), or kidney disease.
- tell your doctor if you are pregnant or are breast-feeding. Also tell your doctor if you plan to become pregnant at any time in the future, because alendronate may remain in your body for many years after you stop taking it. If you become pregnant while taking alendronate, call your doctor.
- talk to your doctor about other things you can do to prevent osteoporosis from developing or worsening. Your doctor will probably tell you to avoid smoking and drinking large amounts of alcohol and to follow a regular program of weight-bearing exercise.

Production of Trazadone
See answer above. That is how I arrived at this board. But I don't get it. This might not be the manufacturer? Perhaps we need to research Pharmaceutical World or trazodone + .com.
Trazodone is the generic name for desyrel.
I think the drug is so old that whoever manufactured desyrel doesn't anymore as I did enter desyrel + .com and came up with nothing using MSN search. Hmm......

Glyburide/Metform 2.5 Twice a day
2 weeks ago I lost my father, 63 from what the ICU doctors called Lactic acidosis which is addressed in the first line of the "Before taking this medication" section of his prescription. My father was diagnosed with Type 1 about 12 years ago and been managing his blood sugar with 2 insulin shots a day. I'm not sure if it's common to prescribe this drug along with insulin shots for Type 1 patients but it clearly states on the drug website and the precautions it should not be used to treat Type 1 patients. My question to the forum is have you heard of using both to control sugar levels?
